Students will learn about owning and operating their own business by helping to run and operate the embroidery business in class. They will learn about business types, products and pricing, marketing, partnerships, agreements and contracts and go through the process of creating a business plan and starting a business. We will sew some projects from kits and then embroider on them to sell, and other projects will be embroidery on ready-made items . |

Description |
The purpose of strength training is to teach students proper warm-up activities, including flexibility and agility, proper weight lifting techniques, and learning more about how to maximize results through varied workouts. The class will be highly structured and organized due to the limited amount of time available for class. Students will be expected to meet all guidelines or risk removal from class. Students will receive a designated amount of time to change into appropriate clothing before the class begins warm-up activities. Once warm-ups are completed, weight lifting activities will be tailored to student needs throughout the school year. There will be a maximum enrollment of 20 students. Enrollment will be determined on a first come first served basis. If necessary, priority will be given to students who participate in sports (the more sports the higher the priority.) |

Description |
This class will enable you to understand why psychology is defined as the scientific study of behavior. Topics included: history and approaches, research methods, biological bases of behavior, developmental psychology, personality testing and individual differences, and memory. Time will also be spent looking at career choices in all areas. Assignments will include developing research skills and preparation for the writing assignments you will experience at the college level. |

Description |
This course will look at the physical aspects of geography and human geography in Latin America, Western and Central Europe, and Northern Eurasia, Southwest and Central Asia, Africa, South and East Asia. Stereotypes will also be discussed as well as how cultures and traditions change over time This course will also concentrate on basic economic concepts. The class will enable you to understand your role in our economy as well as roles of consumer, wage earner and government. Standards will be covered and students will be able to test on those areas covered in the 11th grade social science standards test.
