Cardinals Fly over Wildcats

    On Friday, February 19th, the Randolph Cardinals faced off against the Hartington Wildcats.  It was boys only so the JV started things off at 6:15.  Randolph started out slowly ending the first quarter down by 4.  The Wildcats outscored the Cardinals by 4 points in the second, leading the Cardinals at halftime 18-10.  At the start of the second half, the Cardinals came out hot.  They outscored the Wildcats in the third quarter by ten points.  The shooting carried over to the 4th where the Cardinals pulled ahead and won with a score of 38-29.  The leading scorer was Grant with 14, followed by Severin with 10, Luke with 7, Levi with 3, and Justin with 2.  

    The Varsity game started soon after the parent’s night announcements.  The Cardinals started out the first quarter pretty well with a 16-9 lead.  However, they struggled offensively in the second quarter and were outscored 7-9.  Their troubles continued into the 3rd where they were outscored by 3 points.  That didn’t hold the team down for long as they came out in the 4th quarter and outscored the Wildcats 17-7 to win the contest with a total score of 49-37.  Clinton had 20P and 3 R, Austin had 13P, 4 R, 2 A, 2 B, and 6 S, Adam had 10P, 6 R, 1 A, 3 S, Grant had 2P, 4 R, 2 B, and 1 S, Jon had 2P, 6 R, 4 A, and 1 S, and Daniel had 2P, 2 R, and 3 A.
