Randolph FCCLA Competes at District STAR

Randolph FCCLA members and Mrs. Erwin traveled to Wayne State College on Wednesday, January 25, to participate in the District 7 STAR Events. STAR stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition and is one of the competitive events in which individuals and teams can create projects, write speeches or demonstrate parliamentary procedure or other skills, be judged, and then be recognized with awards. Sixteen students from Randolph participated in the events and did very well. Thanks to Amie Clausen and Shelly Crawford for going along and acting as judges for the event.
CONGRATULATIONS to the FCCLA STAR participants! They did a great job representing our chapter and school! The following awards were earned: Gold in Recycle and Redesign, Jr., with Roadhouse Birdhouse, Maggie Gall. Earning the top award in their category and a trip to state are: Gold in Health & Wellness, Jr., with ATV Safety, Jordan Clausen; Gold in Recycle and Redesign, Jr., with Bag Swag, Lisa Korth; Gold in Interior Design, Sr., with Dilapidated to Dream, Allison Backer and Hannah Theis; Silver in Illustrated Talk, Jr., with The Power of Birth Order, Sarah Aschoff and Lydia Haselhorst; Silver in Parliamentary Procedure Test, Jr., Kylie Bowers and Madysen Andrew; and Silver in Parliamentary Procedure Demonstration, Dakota Lawson, Kali Lenhoff, Jolee Clausen, Lisa Korth, Maggie Carlson, Emily Bloomquist, Alyssa Fye and Kylie Thelen.
