by Jim Hixson

February 21, 2012

The JV Boys’Basketball team ended their season on a 12 game winning streak.  The locals started the season with a 3-2 record but reeled off 12 straight to end the season with a 15-2 record.

Crofton was the second to last game on the schedule.  The Cards went to Crofton and built a 23-11 margin after 2 quarters and held on to win the contest by a score of 31-23.

The sophomores led the way in scoring.  Luke Andrew led all scorers with 14 points, and Austin Gubbels chipped in 7. Nathan Tunink and Seth Lackas added 4, and Justin Korth rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

The final contest of the season saw the Hartington Wildcats come to town.  The Cardinals outscored the Wildcats in each of the 3 quarters played.  Randolph completed its season with a 26-15 victory.

In what may have been some of the most balanced scoring of the season, Luke Andrew led with 9 points, Austin Gubbels had 6, Justin Korth 5, Nathan Tunink 4 and Seth Lackas added 2.

Mr. Hixson would like to thank the Parents and Fans for their support this season. Most importantly he would like to thank the boys for their hard work and dedication. All the hard work paid off with an outstanding season.

Team members were: Juniors Justin Korth, Nathan Tunink, and Jacob Svitak; Sophomores Luke Andrew and Austin Gubbels; and Freshmen Seth Lackas, Jacob Rath and Mitchell Tunink.
