Girls Results at Knox Country Track Meet

The girls traveled to Hartington for what is now called the Knox County Track Meet. It only consists of 6 teams but all are pretty good teams. With the fact that we don't have many out and several of those are hurt and sick we only had 7 girls competing on the day and scored only 10 points as a team. We cobbled together a 3200 relay team of Emily S., Kali L., Malerie H., and Ashley S. and still managed a 3rd place medal out of it though. The time of 11:44 wasn't great but the girls all ran hard. Ashley also was an individual medalist on the day with a time of 2:42 in the 800 which was good enough for 5th. Malerie H. also placed 6th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 1:01, and McRae S. jumped 4-4 to place 6th in the high jump. The few girls who are out for track are to be commended on their initiative and hard work on the season--as we get healthier we will start competing much better.
