January 21, 2015

The Randolph Junior Varsity Boys' Basketball team went 2-1 in a recent 3 game stretch to improve to 7-6 on the season.  The locals traveled to Wausa for the first of the three game set to take on the Wausa Vikings.  The first quarter saw both teams start slowly, but Randolph was able to take a 5-3 lead after the first quarter.  The Cards then blew the game open with a 14-2 advantage in the second quarter, and went on for a 32-15 victory.

Judson Hixson led the way in the scoring column with 11 points on the evening.  Andrew Schnoor had a nice night with 9 points. Mason Stubbs had 5, Mason Nordhues 4, and Cade Linville add 3 points to the scoring column.

Saturday saw the JV squad travel to Plainview for the annual 9th-10th grade tournament.  Randolph faced Pierce in the opening round.  The Junior Cards started out very slowly and found themselves in an immediate 9-0 deficit.  The boys fought back hard however; and were able to overcome the slow start and take a 27-20 victory in the opening round.

Andrew Schnoor was the leading scorer in the opening round with 10 points.  Jud Hixson followed up with 8, Mason Stubbs had 5 and Mason Nordhues rounded out the scoring with 4 points.

Randolph was paired with the West Holt Huskies in the finals.  The Cards found it tough sledding against the impressive squad from Atkinson.  Impatience was the locals downfall offensively as the Huskies downed the JV squad by a 46-20 margin.

Andrew Schnoor again led the way with 8 points.  Mason Nordhues was next in the scoring column with 7 points, and Mason Stubbs and Judson Hixson rounded out the scoring with 3 and 2 points respectively.
