JV Boys go 1-1

January 30, 2016

The Randolph JV Boys' Basketball team split a pair of recent contests.  The first of the two game set was the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors.

Randolph jumped out to strong first quarter lead, outscoring the visiting Warriors 19-10 in the first period; led by Merrix Denn's 10 point first quarter explosion.  In quarter 2 the Cardinals kept the pressure on to take a 34-18 lead.  The best the Warriors could do was match the Cards in the 3rd and final quarter. Randolph was victorious 42-26.

Merrix Denn led all scorers with 19 points on the night. Mason Nordhues had 8 points, Andrew Schnoor 7, Judson Hixson 6, and Avery Bermel had 2 points to round out the scoring.

Randolph traveled to Plainview to take on the Pirates for the 3rd time this season.  The Cardinals dug themselves into a hole early finding themselves down by 11 points at one point, and with a 18-11 deficit going into the final period.  The RHS squad mounted a comeback holding Planiview scoreless in the final period, but were not able to get enough buckets to fall and came up 1 point short. The final score was Plainview 18 Randolph 17.

Merrix Denn again led Randolph in scoring with 9 points. Andrew Schnoor and Judson Hixson each had 4 points on the night.

Randolph's JV Boys are now 10-5 on the season.
