JV Boys Win 3 of 4

The Randolph JV Boys' Basketball team won 3 of 4 contest in a busy week following the varsity conference tournament.  Tuesday night saw the locals travel to Emerson to take on the Emerson-Hubbard Pirates.  The boys shot very well on the night, making 9 3-point buckets.

Merrix Denn was the hottest of all shooters with 5 3-pointers and a total of 20 points in the 3 quarter contest.  Cade Linville also got hot in the 2nd half making 4 3's of his own.  Andrew Schnoor, Mason Nordhues and Judson Hixson all had 2 points.  Randolph won the contest by a 38-22 margin.

The Cardinals' next contest was in Crofton.  The Cards jumped out to a quick 18-7 1st quarter lead, and hung on for a 34-28 victory.

Merrix Denn again led all scorers with 11 points. Jud Hixson chipped in 8 points in his 2 quarters of play. Andrew Schnoor and Mason Nordhues each had 6 points, and Cade Linville had 3 points to round out the scoring.

Saturday morning saw Randolph host the annual R-Club tournament.  The tournament this year was a 3 team round-robin tournament do to a late cancellation by one of the scheduled teams.  Randolph played LCC in the 1st of 2 morning contests.  The contest was close with LCC holding a one point lead at the intermission.  Randolph had trouble scoring in the 2nd half however, and LCC took advantage to hand RHS the 29-18 first round loss.

Merrix Denn again was the leading scorer with 12 points.  Mason Nordhues, Andrew Schnoor and Judson Hixson all had 2 points to account for Randolph's 18 points.

Crofton was the second round opponent for the local squad.  Andrew Schnoor came to life in the first half scoring 10 of his game high 17 points, and Randolph found itself up by a 16-9 margin.  The Warriors tried to fight back however were unable to gain any ground.  The Cardinals went on to a 34-27 victory, giving them 2nd place in the tournament.

Andrew's 17 points were complimented by Merrix Denn's 7 points, Judson Hixson's 6 points, and Mason Nordhues' 4 points.  The victory ups Randolph's record to 13-7  on the season, with one game remaining.
