JV Boys Win 2 of 3

The Randolph JV Boys' Basketball team won 2 of 3 games in a recent stretch. Randolph traveled to Neligh for the first of the three game stretch to take on the Warriors.  The Cardinals started off slowly but were able to take a 1 point lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  The locals stretched that margin to a 22-16 lead with one quarter remaining, and used a strong final period to take a 35-23 victory.

Merrix Denn reached double figures with 13 points on the night.  Cade Linville made 3, 3 point shots to tally 9, Keaton Backhaus and Avery Bermel each had 5 points, Carter Schnoor had 2, and Sam Lemmons chipped in 1 for the victors.

Winside came to town in the 2nd of the 3 game set. The Cardinals were simply too much for the Wildcats outscoring the visitors 20-0 in the first of 2 periods, and going on to take a 29-4 victory.

Six Cardinals were able to get into the scoring column on the night with Keaton Backhaus leading the way.  Keaton scored a game high 11 points. Merrix Denn was next with 6 points, Carter Schnoor and John Munter each scored 4. Avery Bermel and Sam Lemmons rounded out the scoring with 2 each.

The Plainview Pirates came to town for the final game of the 3 game set.  The Cards held a slim 14-13 lead after the first period.  A strong second period had the locals up 28-23, however they were unable to hang on.  Plainview outscored Randolph 17-7 in the final period to take the contest by a 40-35 margin. 

Merrix Denn was Randolph's leading scorer with 11 points, Keaton Backhaus had 9, Carter Schnoor 6, Cade Linville 5, and Avery Bermel rounded out the scoring with 4 points.
