JV Boys Go 3-1 on the Week

January 16, 2013

The Randolph JV Boys’ basketball team went 3-1 on the week to improve to 8-5 on the season.  The locals began the week taking on the West Holt Huskies at home.  The game proved to be very exciting as it took two overtimes for the Cards to come out with a 30-24 victory.  Randolph had two players score in double digits.  Luke Andrew led all scorers with 14 points. Denton Kuhl also had a fine night scoring 10.  Seth Lackas and Connor Bloomquist rounded out the scoring with 4 and 2 points respectively.

Friday saw the locals travel to Wausa to take on the Vikings.  Once again the Cardinals found themselves in a tight contest, eking out a 16-14 victory.  Luke Andrew once again was the star as he scored 13 of the teams 16 points.  Landyn Anderson was the sole other scorer in the 2 quarter contest.  Landyn had one 3 point bucket.

The boys had to get up early on Saturday morning to make it to Plainveiw for the annual Plainview Freshmen/Sophomore tournament.  The tournament was a round robin format this year.  Randolph had trouble getting started in the morning contest and fell by a 36-27 margin to Pierce.  Four Cardinals were able to get into the scoring column.  Landyn Anderson and Denton Kuhl each had 9 points in the losing cause.  Connor Bloomquist scored 5 and Seth Lackas also chipped in 4 for the locals.  Seth was not done for the day however.  He came out in the second contest of the day against Plainview and dominated.  Seth put up a season high 16 points to help lead the Cardinals to a 39-21 victory.  Landyn Anderson  and Connor Bloomquist showed off their shooting skills putting up 11 and 8 points respectively.  Mitchell Nordhues and Adam Thompson pitched in for the victory.  They each scored 2 points in the contest.
