National Blue Ribbon School Ceremony
November 20, 2014
The National Blue Ribbon School Ceremony took place on November 18, at 1:30 in the Lyle Nannen Memorial Gym. The celebration started off with a couple of our local firemen escorting our buses loaded with K-8 students around town. They proceeded back to the high school where our celebration took place. The high school students formed a tunnel for all of our K-8 students to walk through. Mrs. Miller gave an AWESOME speech to get us started. Max Carlson, Rachel Rath, and Tyson Junck introduced Governor Dave Heineman. Governor Heineman congratulated us on a "Great Job", and is very proud of our rural community! Abreanna Greiner and Sophia Harder introduced the School Commisioner Matt Blomstedt. He too commended us on a job well done! Lastly, Charlie Winkelbauer and Alex Schmit introduced District 41 Senator Kate Sullivan. Senator Sullivan got the crowd to make some noise as she had each class stand up starting with grade 8 and as the grades got lower the noise got louder! Mrs. Reimers spoke and introduced Addison Villwok, Natalie Munter, Emmalee Harder, Noah Scott, Sam Lemmons and Aeden Ottis who displayed the Blue Ribbon School Flag that will fly below the united states flag on our flag pole. The school board presented the Blue Ribbon Plaque to the Elementary Staff. Mr. Anderson ran in front of the crowd so that people could see the plaque. The ceremony concluded with cookies and punch served in the commons area. Pictures attached.
