JV Boys go 1-1

The Randolph JV Boys' Basketball team split a recent set of home games.  Wynot came to town just before the Christmas break, and Homer  the day following the break.  Cade Linville and Merrix Denn came out firing, in the opener of the two game set.  Cade and Merrix hit 6, 3pt buckets in the first quarter of the 3 quarter contest, to give Randolph a 19-12 lead.  Cade hitting 4, 3 point shots alone. Unfortunately the team's shooting cooled and the Cards were only able to put up 7 more points in the contest.  The Cardinals fell to the visiting Blue Devils by a 39-28 score.

Cade led the Cardinal's scoring with 14 points, Merrix tallied 9 points, and Carter Schnoor chipped in 5 points on the night.

The Homer Knights came to town following the Christmas break.  Balanced scoring was the theme of the night with six Cardinals being able to put their mark in the scorebook.  Randolph found themselves down by as many as 10 points before stepping up the defensive pressure,  turning the 10 point deficit into a 17 point victory.  The final score was Randolph 44 Homer 27.

Keaton Backhaus had a fine night coming off injury to lead all scorers with 13 points on the night, Merrix Denn followed closely with 12 points, Carter Schnoor had 8, Avery Bermel 6, Cade Linville 3 and John Munter rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
