MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF EDUCATION
8:00 P.M.SUNDAY, APRIL 29TH, 2018
BOARD MEMBERS
Paul Schmit - Presiding Officer Jim Scott - Vice President Sandy Owens, Secretary

The special meeting of the Randolph Board of Education to discuss possible sports cooperatives was called to order at 8:00 pm by President Paul Schmit on April 29th, 2018 with the following people present: Members: Paul Schmit, Lisa Linville, Jim Scott, Loren Haselhorst, Sandy Owens, Cody Backer, Supt. Hoesing, H.S. Principal Dennis Bazata, and A.D. Ted Stubbs. Also present were 6 members of the Winside board of education and approximately 50 patrons and 12 students.
President Paul Schmit announced and informed the public that a current copy of the open meetings act is posted in the commons and that all Randolph board members were present. Motion was made by Backer and seconded by Owens to hereby determine that this meeting was preceded by notice being published in the April 25th, 2018 edition of the Randolph Times and is hereby duly convened in open session. Motion carried 6-0.
Board members from Winside were introduced to those present.
Enrollment figures, data from schools that have cooperatives and NSAA regulations for cooperative agreements were shared.
Jarod Rush, the A.D. from the South Loup Cooperative (Arnold and Callaway) was available via internet using distance meeting technology. He spoke about his experiences with 8 years of an all-sports cooperative with those districts.
Patrons asked questions and shared their opinions with both school boards.
The meeting adjourned at 9:38 pm.
Notice is hereby given that the next regular board meeting of the Randolph Board of Education will be Monday, May 21st, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the high school board room and is open to the public. An agenda is kept continually current and is available for public inspection in the Superintendent’s Office during regular office hours.
I, the undersigned, the duly qualified and acting Recording Secretary of the Randolph Board of Education, Randolph, Nebraska, hereby certify that the attached and foregoing minutes are a true and correct copy of a special meeting of the Randolph Board of Education, held in open session at Randolph, Nebraska on the 29th day of April, 2018, which meeting was preceded by published notice.
