MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING

The regular meeting of the Randolph Board of Education was called to order at 8:00 pm by Paul Schmit on May 21, 2018 with the following present: Members: Paul Schmit, Jim Scott, Sandy Owens, Lisa Linville, Loren Haselhorst, Superintendent Hoesing, Principal Miller, Principal Bazata, and Tiffany Kalin recording secretary.
Paul Schmit announced and informed the public that a current copy of the open meetings act is posted.
Motion was made by Owens and seconded by Scott to hereby determine that this meeting was preceded by published notice in the April 25, 2018 Randolph Times and is hereby duly convened in open session. On roll call vote motion carried 5-0.
Absent and excused is Cody Backer.
Motion was made by Haselhorst and seconded by Owens to approve the regular meeting minutes of April 16th, 2018 and the Special Meeting minutes of April 29th, 2018. On roll call vote motion carried 5-0.
Motion was made by Scott and seconded by Linville to approve the May 2018 claims. On roll call vote motion carried 5-0.
Motion was made by Linville and seconded by Owens to set the lunch prices for the 2018-19 school year at $2.75 for elementary lunches, $3.10 for high school lunches, breakfast for K-12 will be $2.40. Adult breakfast will be $3.15, adult lunch will be $4.45. Ala carte items will be $1.30. On roll call vote motion carried 5-0.
Motion was made by Haselhorst and seconded by Owens in approving a list of extra-duty sponsors, as presented, for the 2018-19 school year.
Motion was made by Owens and seconded by Linville to allow the administration to continue the present jr. high football cooperative with Winside for the 2018-19 school year and to explore opportunities for additional jr. high activities as the need arises with any district.
Motion was made by Schmit and seconded by Scott in approving a probationary teacher contract from Olivia Domogalla for the elementary Special Ed position for the 2018-19 school year.
K-6 Principal Miller, 7-12 Principal Bazata and Superintendent Hoesing gave their monthly reports to the board.
Board members gave consent to change 2018-19 calendar. There will be school on January 14, 2019 and there will be no school on January 17, 2019.
Board members gave consent to add controlled access doors to the high school.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:10 pm.
Notice is hereby given that the next regular board meeting of the Randolph Board of Education will be Monday, June 18th, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. The regular meeting will be held at the high school board room and is open to the public. An agenda is kept continually current and is available for public inspection in the Superintendent’s Office during regular office hours.
