On Tuesday, September 18, 7 students from RHS Intro to Health Science Careers and 3 Seniors attended a Health & Wellness Career Day at Northeast Community College. Students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of hands-on activities while they learned about the variety of career paths available to them in the Health Science field. They were able to use a computer simulation of coding and information management, properly measure dosage for I.V. medications, listen to heart and lung sounds, wrap residual limbs to prepare an amputee for prosthesis, properly take blood pressure, and many more technical skills in the health science field. The students had the opportunity to have lunch in the college cafeteria as well as take a tour of the campus. There were even four $1,000 tuition waivers that attending seniors were eligible to win. One of these waivers was awarded to Randolph’s Mariah Suniga. It is safe to say that Mariah was shocked and quite excited when they drew her name!
