Tyson Junck Runner-Up at State Speech

On March 22, Tyson Junck participated at the State Speech competition.  Among the best of the best, Junck placed second in Humorous Prose.  He chose a script, full of different characters, by Frank Joseph titled "Mary Choppins".  The process includes two regular rounds where Junck presents his speech in front of one judge and from those two rounds, six finalists are chosen.  The six competitors perform in . . .

Shannon Haselhorst earns Jazz Solo trophy of the day.  There were 15 schools at Northeast Community College in Level III and she was picked the best soloist of the entire day.

Dinner Concert

On March 23, the night started out with the concert band performing Selections from “The Lion King” and “Aladdin”.  Tyson Junck-Lumiere sang a solo with “Be Our Guest”.  Dinner was served it was Chicken Parmesan over pasta, breadstick, and poppy seed salad.  Jordan Mavis—Belle and AJ Blickenstaff– The Beast sang “Tale as Old as Time”.  Baylie . . .

Band takes home 4th place Trophy and 3 students earn soloist awards at Coyote Jazz Festival

The Band takes home a 4th place Trophy and 3 students earn soloist awards at Coyote Jazz  Festival.  Shannon Haselhorst - Alto Sax, Gabe Wortman- Bari Sax, and Lily Umberger-Trombone all were given soloist awards for the Coyote Jazz Festival.  In order to earn a soloist award a student has to be nominated by two of the 3 judges. This is the 14th Jazz Trophy earned in the past 9 years.
