week 4

Each week our K-12 students participate in discussions around different character traits with the Positivity Project. One of our first lessons is Teamwork! Here are some photos of posters that were created by 7-12 students on what teamwork means to them.

Our elementary bookfair is just weeks away. We are in need of parent/community volunteers to cover some hours during the fair. Please consider volunteering if you are able. We appreciate it! All funds raised during the bookfair go back to purchasing books and materials for teachers and the library.

Another delicious week in the Cardinal kitchen! We served up Cavatini made with locally raised Randolph Beef and a student favorite — Popcorn Chicken Bowls! And don’t forget our fresh fruit & veggie bar — giving our students plenty of colorful choices to round out their meals! We love filling trays with good food and seeing our students enjoy it.

First day of junior high marching band in the books. It's fun to see so many participants. They ended their marching by showing off their skills to Kindergarten at lunch. They are sounding awesome!

💚 This Week in The Positivity Project at RPS!

Our students are continuing to build the character strengths and relationship skills that help create a positive school community. Because our elementary and high school P2 calendars are at different points, students will be focusing on two different topics each week.

🏫 Elementary: Other People Mindset
Our elementary students are learning that positive relationships matter and that our actions can help build them. They’ll focus on appreciating the good in others, understanding how their words and actions affect people, cheering others on, offering support, and being present.

❤️ High School: Teamwork
Our high school students are focusing on Teamwork, which means working well with others toward a shared goal. Strong teammates are loyal, reliable, supportive, and willing to help others succeed. Sometimes teamwork means putting the success of the group ahead of individual recognition.

Although the lessons may be different, the message connects: how we treat and support other people matters. Whether we are building relationships or working toward a common goal, each of us plays a role in creating the kind of school community we want to be part of.

💚 Ask your Cardinal this week: What is one thing you can do to be a positive influence on the people around you?

Help Needed!

We are getting closer everyday to having the elementary building ready, and we could use some volunteers for getting furniture back to the second floor classrooms!
