MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING
BOARD OF EDUCATION
7:00 P.M, MONDAY, DECEMBER 9th, 2024

The regular meeting of the Randolph Board of Education was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Paul Schmit on December 9th, 2024, with the following present: Members: Paul Schmit, Sandy Owens, Jim Scott, Cody Backer, Lisa Linville, Lucas Miller, Superintendent Schrunk, Principal Beacom and Principal Bartels.
Paul Schmit announced and informed the public that a current copy of the open meetings act is posted on the wall.
Motion was made by Backer and seconded by Scott to hereby determine that this meeting was preceded by published notice in the November 20th, 2024, Randolph Times and is hereby duly convened in open session. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion was made by Scott and seconded by Miller to approve the regular meeting minutes of November 11th, 2024. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
Motion was made by Linville and seconded by Scott to approve the December 2024 claims. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
The audience was recognized and had no input.
Principal Bartels reported to the board about the finance classes offered at Randolph Public School to meet state statute 79-3004. She also discussed AQUeSTT Classifications for our district.
Superintendent Schrunk gave a summary of policies #1000-#1080.
Motion was made by Backer and seconded by Owens in approving a bid for $25,750.00 to replace a heat exchanger at the high school. Labor is not included and will be billed separately; they are estimating 2 full days labor to complete the repair. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
Motion was made by Miller and seconded by Linville in approving the revisions to Board Policy #3132-Internal Controls. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
Motion was made by Backer and seconded by Miller in approving a negotiated agreement with the Randolph Education Association for the 2025-26 school year. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
Motion was made by Scott and seconded by Owens in accepting the 2023-24 audit. On roll call vote motion carried 6-0.
K-6 Principal Beacom, 7-12 Principal Bartels and Superintendent Schrunk gave their monthly reports to the board.
The board members reported on a few of the sessions they attended at the recent NASB State Conference.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:01 p.m.
Notice is hereby given that the next regular meeting of the Randolph Board of Education on Monday, January 13th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. An agenda is kept continually current and is available for public inspection in the Superintendent’s Office during regular office hours.
I, the undersigned, the duly qualified and acting Recording Secretary of the Randolph Board of Education, Randolph, Nebraska, hereby certify that the attached and foregoing minutes are a true and correct copy of a meeting of the Randolph Board of Education, held in open session at Randolph, Nebraska on the 9th day of December 2024 which meeting was preceded by published notice.
